I would like to have my luggage shipped to my resort in Mexico instead of taking it on the plane. This is mostly because I will only have an hour between flights on the way back and I don’t want to have to wait for my checked luggage. Also, it would be nice to travel lightly.
It looks like I can have it shipped there for about $150 via USPS 3-day. I can ship it back for about $50 using the Mexican Post Office.
My wife says a friend “read” that shipping stuff to Mexico is unreliable, and that it could take a few weeks to make it to the resort. I understand that there’s always a chance that this will happen (heck, the airlines lost my luggage once and I didn’t get it back until the vacation was over!) but I’m doubtful it’s as unreliable as she thinks.
Does anyone have any experience with shipping to Mexico? Anyone have experience with shipping luggage to Mexico? I’d be happy to use someone like Luggage Free, but they’re more like $450 each way.
