haha, why would they have United States Postal Service in Australia lol. try again.
I am shipping to Qatar, in the Middle East. It’s not huge stuff like furniture or anything. But just things like lots of shoes, books and just personal belongings that wont make it in the 20kg weight limit of aeroplane luggage.

Brian H asked:

My fiance and I are traveling to Rome via Iberia airlines from Chicago, we have a connection in Madrid, all I have ever heard about Iberia is that they have a tendency to lose luggage. We are trying not to check any luggage. I have 2 40 liter backpacks and a couple of rolling carryons we will bring with us on the plane. The trip is 12 days, 4 in rome and 7 on a cruise. I pack light, 2 weeks in 1 rolling carry-on

First question is do you think we will have any problem with those?

Second, my fiance has curly hair and requires lots of hair products, what is the best way to get those to rome? Buy travel sizes, ship some to our hotel, or purchase while there?
I am also a platinum member from AA and a Sapphire member with One World, which Iberia belongs to.

I would prefer to send items to the resorts wedding coordinator (via FedEx or DHL) a week ahead of the trip so that I know they’ve arrived (and have a couple of days to execute a back up plan if they dont) and not have to worry about carting around extra bags and connecting flights and lost luggage.

How do I find out if I will be charged taxes (or duty, I’m not exactly sure what to call it) on shipments ahead of time? And what are the charges? I also wonder, do the same fees apply when checking bags and going through airport customs? TIA
